Endowed Professorships
- David Dzombak - Walter J. Blenko, Sr. Professor of Environmental Engineering
The Walter Blenko Sr. Professorship, established in 1981, is funded by Walter Blenko Jr. and his wife Joy. Walter Sr. received his mechanical engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon in 1950. A lawyer at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott in Pittsburgh, Walter Jr. established the Walter Blenko Sr. Professorship in Civil and Environmental Engineering in memory of his father Walter J. Blenko Sr., who was a mechanical engineering graduate and a life trustee of the university.
- Chris Hendrickson - Duquesne Light Professor of Engineering
This professorship is provided through a generous contribution by Duquesne Light Company, reflecting their commitment to education and research. Duquesne Light Company is a leader in the transmission and distribution of electric energy, offering superior customer service and reliability to more than half a million customers in southwestern Pennsylvania.
- Mitch Small - H. John Heinz III Professor of Environmental Engineering
The H. John Heinz III Professorship is funded through the Vira I. Heinz Endowment. One of the nation’s largest philanthropic organizations, the Heinz Endowments’ mission is to support progress in community development, the arts, education, health, human services and the environment.
